Charles H. Billingsley, 88, retired Music Educator, Insurance Agent and USMC veteran, passed away Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016. Visitation 1-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, with family receiving friends 5-7 p.m.; Funeral service 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, both at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby.
Charles was born Oct. 15, 1928 in Oklahoma City, and was adopted 5 months later on March 25, 1929, by Walter and Alice Billingsley. They preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Jane; sons, James (Lupe) of Grapevine, Texas, and John (Sherrie) of Derby; daughters, Janet Billingsley of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Joan Blencoe (Greg) of Derby; grandchildren, Carlos, Melinda and Jacob Billingsley, Bretley Laramore (Grant), Paige Huitt (Parker), William and Tyler Travis (Ana), and Dustin Blencoe; great-grandchildren, Grace Billingsley, Benjamin Laramore and Parker Huitt II.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with the Haysville Church of Christ and College Hill Church of Christ, Mulvane.
